If there’s one advantage to staying in El Canario by the Lagoon, apart from a wallet-friendly price point, is a location that puts vacationing couples, families and business traveler within easy reach of nearly all the great places to visit in the Condado area. It is just a block away from the oceanfront park and the stunning Condado beach, the finest in Puerto Rico’s northern coast. A short walk is all that separates you from several shopping centers, restaurants, casinos and a zestful nightlife.
Farther off with a short car ride are fine restaurants like the Blue Iguana along Fajardo Rd, and the Perla Restaurant in the nearby La Concha hotel and the Beach Bum Pub along Ashford Avenue.

All the 44 rooms have a private balcony for an impressive view of the city and the inviting Condado beach. Each is furnished with air condition, a refrigerator, in-room safety deposit box, direct dial telephones, cable TV, a private bathroom with shower and a private balcony. Guests who bring their laptops can go online in the privacy of their rooms which have complimentary broadband WiFi access. Otherwise, there’s an internet café near the hotel for those without laptops. Room rates also include a complimentary tropical breakfast and newspaper. Unlike many hotels in the area, however, pets are not allowed.
Rooms can be single all the way to quad rooms that can accommodate 4 guests. There’s also a Penthouse Suite that has all the features of others rooms but includes a full functioning kitchen, a dining room and access to the hotel’s rooftop patio garden that affords the best view of the Condado skyline, stunning sunsets and the Caribbean waters.
The six story hotel has a convenient elevator to serve its upper floors where all the rooms and suites are located. Complimentary off-street parking is available to guests; just leave your car keys with the front desk. There’s a coin-operated washer and dryer in the laundry room which also has iron & ironing board you can use. There’s no swimming pool since the excellent Condado beach is just a block away, but you can avail of its free but limited number of beach towels you can bring to the beach. Health and spa centers are just a few steps away from the hotel.
